If you enjoy singing in the shower or singing along to your favourite songs on the radio, then try joining our chorus. Everyone is welcome as long as you are over the age of 18. Our group is made up of women of all ages and from all walks of life and what unites us is our love of singing and friendship.
love to sing and are able to sing a tune
are looking for a new and sociable hobby in a friendly, fun group
can commit to weekly rehearsal on a Monday evening and to learn and practise your songs at home
We would love to hear from you!
What we can offer in return:
Teach tracks and sheet music to help you learn our repertoire (it's not a problem if you can't read music)
Support to help you do this from your Section Leader, MD and chorus members
The opportunity to improve your vocal technique, through regular rehearsals and from visiting coaches
The uplifting experience of singing in harmony
As an a cappella harmony group we sing in four unaccompanied parts. The melody is generally sung by the LEAD, with the TENOR part harmonising above the melody line, the BASS part singing the lowest harmonising line, and the BARITONE completing the chord. Everyone has a different vocal range and if you join us, we will work out with which part would suit you best.
Although we are serious about working hard to improve, chorus rehearsals are also about fun and friendship, so why not come along and join us and we are sure you will soon agree. The taster session is free, so why not give it a go!
If you would like to come along, please contact us first via email@example.com. We can look out for you and make sure we have spare music ready. We rehearse on Monday evenings 7:30 - 9:45 pm and we recommend coming from about 7:15 to say hello to people.
We rehearse in an old church which gives great acoustics. It can be hard to spot from the road, especially in the dark! There's roadside parking outside on Pinhoe Road. Look out for other ladies arriving at the same time.
