If you enjoy singing in the shower or singing along to your favourite songs on the radio, recent medical research has suggested this can tap into the following health benefits:
Everyone is welcome as long as you are over the age of 16. Our group is made up of women of all ages and from all walks of life and what unites us is our love of singing and friendship.
Monday 7:30pm to 9:45pm
Whipton Community Hall
All prospective members will be required to pass a voice test before becoming a full member of the chorus. Don’t worry this is not as scary as it sounds!
As an Acappella harmony group we sing in four unaccompanied parts. The melody is generally sung by the LEAD, with the TENOR part harmonising above the melody line, the BASS part singing the lowest harmonising line, and the BARITONE completing the chord. Everyone has a different vocal range and if you join us, we will work out with which part would suit you best.
Don’t be put off if you cannot read music – an ear for music and a love of singing is what matters.
At chorus rehearsals we focus each week on a different skill or technique to improve vocal production and sound. We place a strong emphasis on continuing to improve the sound and performance of the whole chorus. As well as Monday rehearsals, each section have separate practices on a regular basis. Good attendance is expected as well as commitment to continue to learn and practice your songs at home.
Although we are serious about working hard to improve, chorus rehearsals are also about fun and friendship………
….so why not come along and join us and we are sure you will soon agree.
